I am planning to get a german shepherd puppy and need to know how long it will be able to hold its bladder because i go to school for six hours a day.

It really depends on how old the puppy is and there is also variance between individuals – same as human toddlers. You should be able to expect a couple of hours during the day at 7 to 8 weeks of age, and some will even hold on for 6 hours. I would crate it with a thick liner of newspapers in the bottom, as crate training them helps with toilet training. They are more likely to hold on in their crate than if left out. If you don’t have a crate or can’t afford one, lock your puppy up in a small room like bathroom, porch, wash-house or shower, with some newspaper in a corner so it can relieve itself if it needs to. Helps if you collect some urine and put it on the paper so it smells of its urine and will go back to the same area. Hopefully your breeder will have done some toilet training already, so ask for their advice.

Yes. It definitely can.
By having a bladder infection you may begin to feel paranoid, depressed and anxious especially about anyone coming near you.
But, just because you feel this way doesn’t mean you have it, it may be all psychological. If i were you i’d see a doctor about this, because a bladder infection is pretty serious and nothing to guess about.

I’ve been having pains on the top part of my stomach and a headache (but the headache might not have anything to do with it, cause I also get headaches because of my eyes). Anyway, my older sister (who is now 22) had to have her gull bladder removed because of an infection or something like that and my mom thinks that I could have the same problem. Where is the gull bladder located and what are the symptoms for an infection? Thanks!
Sorry. *Gall Bladder*

The Gallbladder is located in the right upper part of your abdomen. Gallbladder infections (Cholecystitis) are symptomatic with pain in that area as well as radiation at times to the chest and right shoulder blade, fever and nausea and vomiting. Evaluation of the disease at a hospital would show an elevated WBC (white count) and sludge and gallbladder wall thickening on Ultrasound.
Gallbladder Disease, Gallstones (cholelithiasis), can cause biliary colic or spasm, pain in the same area with ingestion of a fatty meal. Not necessarily an infection, just spasm of the gallbladder which stores and secretes bile to digest fats. To minimize biliary colic or gallbladder pain, stick to a low fat diet. A ultrasound can diagnose Cholelithiasis and Cholecystitis.

I know that liquids are processed by the kidneys and the bladder, but how do they get there? I have no idea where liquids go to after they pass by the stomach. It’s not a life or death question, just curious. Thanks.

Once you drink liquids, they are absorbed as they pass through the gastrointestinal tract. However, most of the fluid is absorbed in the colon (large intestines). Once it is absorbed, it goes into the bloodstream.

The volume of blood is tightly controlled by the body. If there is too much blood, then more fluids are filtered out in the kidneys. The opposite happens when there is not enough blood. This is why your urine is clear when you drink lots of water (lots of water, not much waste products), and yellow when you are dehydrated (not much water, lots of waste products).

In terms of how urine is made: at a basic level, the blood passes through the kidneys, and water and various electrolytes and waste products are filtered (at the glomerulus). This fluid then passes along a series of tiny tubes, and various things are added to it or reabsorbed into the blood. They then enter the Ureters. The ureters are simply muscular tubes connecting the kidneys to the bladder, and there is no change in the fluid as it passes along. The Bladder is also just a muscular sac, acting as a reservoir. All the processing of the urine composition takes place in the kidneys.
