I know women deal with some very deep, powerful emotions when dealing with Breast, Ovarian and Uterine Cancer.
Surely you can empathize with men who are the victims of Prostate Cancer. Whatever treatment a man may pursue, he can count on two certain side-effects: progressively worsening urinary incontinence and sexual impotence.
Can you imagine going through that, ladies? Can’t you empathize with how degrading and humiliating an experience that must be? Wouldn’t you, for that reason alone, concede that Prostate Cancer research deserves Government funding which is proportional and equitable to what Breast Cancer receives?
Prostate Cancer affects one in six men.
Breast Cancer Affects one in eight women.
30,000 men die from Prostate Cancer Yearly.
40,000 women die from Breast Cancer.
Breast Cancer received $699 million in 2006.
$390 million for Prostate Cancer in the same year.
Sound like a fair distribution to you?
More recent stats:
http://dailycaller.com/2010/10/05/breast-cancer-receives-much-more-research-funding-publicity-than-prostate-cancer-despite-similar-number-of-victims/
"According to estimates from the National Institutes of Health, in the United States in 2010, 207,090 women and 1,970 men will get new cases of breast cancer, while 39,840 women and 390 men will likely die from the disease. The estimated new cases of prostate cancer this year — all affecting men — is 217,730, while it is predicted 32,050 will die from the disease."
"In fiscal year 2009, breast cancer research received $872 million worth of federal funding, while prostate cancer received $390 million. It is estimated that fiscal year 2010 will end similarly, with breast cancer research getting $891 million and prostate cancer research receiving $399 million."

We have a spokesman: Rudy Guiliani, a Prostate Cancer survivor.

Q:
Breast Cancer kills a mere 7,000 thousand more people annual; but it receives more than twice the federal funding and that happens because Feminist groups MAKE it happen.
You are completely out of your element.
Spanx:
The median age for Testicular Cancer is 25 and it gets even less than Prostate Cancer.
It’s not a competition; it’s about being fair and equitable to BOTH genders.
Also, Prostate Cancer is significantly harder to detect at early stages, what with our prostates being somewhat more inside of our bodies than your breasts.
Iggy:
That is a massive wall of wrong and fail.
Men can develop 3 different forms of genital specific cancer: Prostate, Penile and Testicular
I’m not asking for "special" rights, I’m asking for equal protections and rights under the law.
Where are your stats that you found in "five minutes of googling"?
Iggy:
As for birth control, Israeli scientists have recently developed a safe male birth control pill which works by suppressing the creation of certain proteins, making it superior to hormonal treatments.
So, once that gets through clinicals; you won’t have to worry about that anymore either.
Iggy:
I know nothing about Cancer?
You just said men only get Cancer in one private part.
Clearly, you know lots about modern medicine.
Agreed.
It probably won’t happen though. Governments aren’t known for fair distribution of funding.
