about back pain and knee pain with urinary incontinence?

My age is 40. Ten yrs back, I have done hysterectomy. After that, I often get severe pain in the operated area. I have, urinary incontinence also for the last 2 yrs. Now I’m suffering with, low back pain and knee pain. I don’t know, what could be the problem. Pls, any one help me.

I can’t imagine that the low back pain and the knee pain are related to the urinary incontinence or the hysterectomy.

Well, I did just think of a possibility. Are you overweight? People who are overweight are more likely to have urinary incontinence, back problems, and knee problems. So, if you are, I would work on losing weight. Eat a healthy diet and exercise. If you’re having pain, you probably want to exercise in a pool to keep pressure off your joints.

should there be funding for corrective medical procedures for women who relinquished their baby?

i ask because often we are bombarded with comments such as "just give the baby up to a loving couple", "have the baby and place for adoption", "don’t have an abortion..there are so many who want a child."

all of this IGNORES the significant bodily injury endured by women (and young women) who deliver a baby, besides the obvious (stretchmarks, weight gain…)

i’m referring to:

pelvic floor prolapse
urinary/fecal incontinence
orthopedics issues
et al..

since many think delivery is simply "pant, push, voila!"; should we include in the "fees" about $20K in case the mother requires corrective surgery as a result of staying pregnant to give "a loving family a child?"

also, i’m not for any monetary incentive to ENCOURAGE adoption. this is simply an escrow account that can be accessed at any point for corrective medical care for the mother who endured the physical damage of delivery.

just a thought…
ETA: multiple pregnancies CAN increase the risk of these major issues; but they can and do happen after one delivery.

the point i make is that pregnancy is not a simple act of pushing out a child. also, not all government assistance will cover these procedures, as many view some as "elective."
i also agree that mothers who relinquish should have access to FREE mental health counseling. and the counseling provided by quack "birthmother counselors" at adoption agencies, who only diminish their loss, and keep feeding them with "it’s the hormones", "you are loving"…et al.

No. We pay for that stuff in our tax dollars for every woman on government assistance as it is.

However I would like to see an adoption tax added to each transaction that funds birth control education in elementary school and maybe if the woman wants to get her tubes tied after birth, that should be an opt-in covered expenses.

I have five ruptured disks, Scheuermanns Disease, and a handfull of Schmorl Nodes. I’ve been thinking about getting this all fixed by surgery but I dont know what the risks are. My biggest concern is I hear it is very easy to become incontinent as a result of this surgery, this scares the crap out of me (no pun intended). My question: What are all the risks? Is it Urinary or Fecal incontinence? HELP

Number4, I had to have disc surgery back in the mid 80’s all they had to do was a partial discectomy, where they removed 1/2 the disc @ l-4 l-5 No fusion necessary simple to what you are going to. What happens to your bladder when you hold pee for too long?

Sometimes I hold my pee for 14 hours! And I feel pain in my bladder and the side of my stomach. But I was wondering what happens to the bladder when we hold in our pee for long hours?

It causes UTI, kidney infections, bladder stones, kidney stones, and hydronephrosis (urine backing up into the kidneys).

Can anyone tell me anything about left atrial enlargement and mitral valve prolapse?

I am not sure exactly what information you are looking for and it would be best to discuss your individual case with the doctor taking care of you. Mitral valve prolapse (MVP) is the most common congenital abnormality of the heart valves. About 4-5% of people have MVP. Many people have MVP and never have serious problems. MVP can be associated with certain complications, which I will discuss later. The mitral valve is located on the left side of the heart and separates the upper chamber (left atrium) from the (left ventricle.) MVP is basically when the mitral valve leaflets bounce back into the left atrium. Some people with MVP will also have mitral regurgitation in which blood from the left ventricle inappropriately travels back into to the left atrium. The severity of the regurgitation will determine the severity of the disease. Some people with MVP do not have any regurgitation and will not have any significant problems. Some people with MVP can develop severe regurgitation which will require mitral valve repair or replacement. The presence and severity of mitral regurgitation can easily be determined with a special ultrasound of the heart known as an Echocardiogram.

People with mitral valve prolapse are at increased risk for certain abnormal heart rhythms, such as premature atrial contractions, supraventricular tachycardia or atrial fibrillation. These arrhythmias are rarely fatal, but can produce the irregular heart beat or palpitations. A 24-48 hour holter heart monitor can be worn to determine if you have any of these. People with MVP (especially those with regurgitation) are also at increased risk of developing infection of the heart valve, known as infective endocarditis. Therefore some people with MVP and regurgitation require antibiotics with certain procedures, such as dental procedures. You can discuss this with your doctor to determine if this is needed in your case.

As I said before, many people have MVP and most people do not have any serious problems. The risk of sudden cardiac death is low. MVP can lead to mitral regurgitation in some people and some of these people may eventually require a heart valve replacement. The Echocardiogram will provide information on the severity in your case. It is impossible for us to predict the outcome in your case. Discuss your case with your Cardiologist. MVP is a huge topic and I am not sure exactly what you are looking for but I hope this helped you some. Good luck.

pomeranian girl pee’s allllll the time!!!?

i had a bichon frise for most of my life, and he always went pee a lot and pee’d a lot in the house and at innapropriate times, and it was always small puddles or when he was mad at us, now my new dog, lilly, was a rescued dog. the vet said she is about 3-4 years old, she was abused badly and is comfortable around me and my boyfriend now after having her for a year, but she pee’s so much! she hasnt been fixed, and i dont intend on getting her fixed at this point in her life i think it will only traumatize her more and i dont want to put her through that, so the bleeding i can deal with and the peeing i can deal with. she is a little overweight and she is generally a peppy dog. she gets nervous a lot, being that she has a little chihuahua in her. she has always pee’d in the house ever since we got her and we have trained her to go outside without her leash now so we let her out a lot. but if we were to let her out as much as she pee’d we would be getting up every 15 minutes to let her out to pee a dime sized spot. it is ruining my carpet and making my house smell HORRIBLE. i just used a rug doctor last month and already my house stinks of pee. i have been noticing that since she has been in heat she has been peeing in smaller amounts and she will move to different spots to pee like the same sized pee spots but in different areas of the house. she doesnt seem to act hurt or as if she is in any pain. she pants a lot and she drinks a fair amount of water. i was just wondering if this behavior is normal, she just seems so like tense and under stress like she is never able to calm down, i just dont know since ive never had a pomeranian before, i am sure it is normal for a dog in heat and a dog who has been abused before, but i just dont know what to do, i dont want to punish her because she is scared enough, so i just tell her bad and clap and tell her o go outside, i guess my question is, is this normal behavior for a smaller dog or even a female dog in heat? to act high strung and pee? she doesnt seem sick or in pain or anything like that, she is completely normal, given the normal that i know her to be, minus the peeing so much. she always pees a lot but its so much more right now and very hard to keep up with, and my second question is what is a GREAT EXCELLENT way to get the urine smells and stains out of my carpet. i have tried EVERY cleaner on the market and to no avail have i found one that works amazingly. third question, is there any cheaper supplements i could give her if she has a urinary tract infection or even urinary incontinence that would clear up any infection? i dont want to give her antibiotics even if it is one because those cause more harm than good id rather give her something to drink or eat or even a vitamin that could clear it up. any advise would be appreciated!

I am male and have MVPS with no MR. I occasionally get shortness of breath (even while rest – sudden difficulty breathing in). Will simple benign MVPS with no MR or heart failure causes shortness of breath? I have no asthma-wheeze or cough but an increased awareness of heart beats. What is the reason for pain in the left nipple? Is it any way connected to MVPS?

Hi, yes I think they can help you.
From what you say, I think you a mild form of stress incontinence, so you leak a bit when you laugh, or cough or exercise.
It’s pretty common with pregnant women, after childbirth or if you’re overweight.
Kegels help strengthen your pelvic floor and may reduce your leaking.
You can find more in this link (How is incontinence treated). It shows you how the muscles work, and tells you how to do the exercises (basically 3 sets of 10 a day).

If you have mitral valve prolapse, do you experience constant arrhythmias?

I’ve experienced arrhythmias, which can happen to anyone, but I’ve also noticed other symptoms that don’t happen at the time of an arrhythmia, but match up with MVP. Is there anyone here who has it, or knows someone who has it, who can advise me? I don’t have the money to talk to a doctor at the moment.
My arrhythmias are not constant. I can go a couple months without experiencing one.

Various arrhythmias are associated with mitral valve prolapse. Commonest and least harmful are the premature ventricular beats(PVCs).

How long can a german shepherd puppy hold its bladder?

I am planning to get a german shepherd puppy and need to know how long it will be able to hold its bladder because i go to school for six hours a day.

It really depends on how old the puppy is and there is also variance between individuals – same as human toddlers. You should be able to expect a couple of hours during the day at 7 to 8 weeks of age, and some will even hold on for 6 hours. I would crate it with a thick liner of newspapers in the bottom, as crate training them helps with toilet training. They are more likely to hold on in their crate than if left out. If you don’t have a crate or can’t afford one, lock your puppy up in a small room like bathroom, porch, wash-house or shower, with some newspaper in a corner so it can relieve itself if it needs to. Helps if you collect some urine and put it on the paper so it smells of its urine and will go back to the same area. Hopefully your breeder will have done some toilet training already, so ask for their advice.
