Can you still have children after a prolapse?
05 Feb 2010
I can not get to the doc until next week but, for the past month, I’ve had random pain in my vagina, and occasional pain during intercourse.
I also now have the feeling that something is, "coming down" and, when looking at myself in the mirror, I see what looks like white tissue in my vagina. I am doing kegels like crazy now.
I do have one child but, at 27 definitely want more!
Any advice is helpful as I am extremely upset.
The short answer: yes, you should be able to have more children. It’s good that you made an appointment–it will help you to discuss your concerns and various options for treatment (ranges from exercises like Kegels to wearing a pessary to surgery and all depends upon how prolapsed you are and your own circumstances).
here’s a good website: http://www.pregnancytoday.com/articles/complications-cesareans/prolapsed-uterus-and-pregnancy-4113/
Here’s another answer from a Q&A site with a similar situation to yours: http://en.allexperts.com/q/Childbirth-3495/2008/4/question-prolapse-next-pregnancy.htm
