Is it safe for her to have the H1N1 vaccine?
Yes, if she has a chronic health condition she would be a priority. She should get the shot, not the mist as the mist is only given to people without chronic health conditions.

2009 Nov 17 1I would say yes, but she needs to ask her doctor to make sure. As a rule people with health problems are advised to get the flu shots before healthy people do.

2009 Nov 17 2Hi Cuski. I’m curious. Has your daughter’s doctor tested her for magnesium deficiency? This common deficiency has been connected to causing MVP, especially in women. Below are links to a couple of scientific research papers on this subject.

2009 Nov 17 4Your daughter falls in the high risk category. She should have the flu shot.
In your daughters situation a situation known as, "risk to benefit ratio" comes into play. Simply put it means that a treatment should be prescribed if the benefit is greater than the risk.

2009 Nov 17 5She CANNOT get the nasal spray but she CAN get the shot. but do not let her get the nasal spray because people with health problems shouldnt get it.
