We have a 4 year old min pin who’s having problems peeing while she sleeps. It’s not consistant, has happened about 5 times, but it concerns me that it doesn’t seem to be done out of laziness– rather because she really can’t help it. Also, a few times a day she’ll have drop or two of liquid stool that comes at inopportune times (this has been happening for a while).
She still has normal peeing/pooping habits outdoors throughout the day, and shows no signs of discomfort. Also no changes in family life that would’ve caused stress or in her diet.
Any suggestions?
Could be a number of things from an infection to something more serious. She needs to be examined thoroughly by the vet.

2009 Sep 15 3you can try filling a old pillow case with cat litter, and every day shaked it untill you can not shaked any more and throw the old cat litter away and boil wash the pillow case or you can get a new old one to replace it

2009 Sep 15 4Take her to the vet, and take a urine sample with you (if you can collect one-if not, the vet can cath her). It sounds to me like just plain incontinence that is treatable with inexpensive medications (like Proin). She’s likely relaxing her sphincter muscles too much when she sleeps, causing the leakage…this medication will help her hold it. It’s most likely this is the cause, but the vet should examine her thoroughly to rule out the possibility of a tumor pushing on her bladder/bowel walls or something else.
